About Me

Portrait of Filip Mellgren

I'm a PhD student in Economics at the Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES) in Stockholm. My research interests include how competition and technology shape macroeconomic growth and productivity.

My approach involves developing macroeconomic models that are motivated and disciplined by Swedish administrative employer-employee data. I also have an affinity for coding and applying machine learning methods to economics and have done work on reinforcement learning-based pricing algorithms.
